Our client a Civil Engineering Company carrying our telecommunication projects in the East African region ; located at Ruiru is looking for a proactive Health & Safety Officer to implement and oversee HSE programmes across our Greater Western Region operations, ensuring full regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture on all sites.

Role Overview

Kinde Engineering Works Ltd is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Officer to implement and oversee HSE programmes across our Greater Western Region operations, ensuring full regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture on all sites

Key Responsibilities

HSE Compliance & Site Supervision

• Enforce HSE policies and conduct routine site inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with national HSE regulations at all times.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

• Identify, evaluate, and document workplace risks; maintain risk register.
• Carry out Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) before high-risk activities.

Incident Reporting & Investigation

• Investigate incidents and near-misses; determine root causes.
• Submit timely reports and recommend corrective actions.

Training & Safety Awareness

• Deliver toolbox talks, HSE inductions, and safety training sessions.
• Promote safety culture through continuous on-site engagement.

Emergency Preparedness

• Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
• Ensure all emergency equipment is serviceable and accessible.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: 3–4 years of progressive HSE experience

Environment: Field-based or multi-site engineering environments

Education: Diploma/Degree in HSE (NEBOSH is an added advantage)

Mobility: Available to work across Greater Western Region

Compensation

The best candidate will be offered a monthly wage depending on qualifications and experience together with other allowances.
