WordPress Developer

Our client IdealTech LLC, a New York-based app and web development agency to build modern mobile applications and AI-powered products is looking for a reliable WordPress Developer (Fully remote) to support their team on client projects  to work on custom WordPress websites, performance improvements, plugin integrations, and ongoing maintenance.

Engagement type: Freelance / Contract (with potential long-term collaboration) and occasionally will need to attend meetings or aligned with US or European time zones.

Your Responsibilities

• Build and maintain WordPress websites for client projects
• Customize themes, plugins, and site functionality as needed
• Implement performance, security, and SEO best practices
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and developers
• Participate in sprint planning and task discussions
• Track progress and updates using Slack and Trello

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with WordPress
• Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience building and modifying custom WordPress themes
• Experience working with and customizing WordPress plugins
• Familiarity with WooCommerce (setup, customization, payments)
• Understanding of WordPress security, performance, and best practices
• Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations

General Requirements

• 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks responsibly
• Reliable internet connection
• Access to a laptop and smartphone
• Comfortable working in a remote, async environment

Compensation

An Hourly rate of KES: 600.00 -800.00 expected to sum to approximately KES 100,000.00 monthly
