Our client a garden inn serving local and international guests, located in a Nairobi high end estate is looking for a motivated, dedicated and a creative food and beverage manager to join their vibrant team

Reporting line

To report to the guest house general manager.

Job summary

The F & B Manager will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience including the day-to-day activities of internal workflow of the kitchen, restaurant as well as selling and planning of events for the garden inn by forecasting, planning organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the hotel kitchen operations.

Duties

  1. Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards and quality.
  2. Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
  3. Oversee the whole process of purchasing food and drink for the hotel premise
  4. Provide guests with a good food experience in the restaurant and during the various events held at the premises and grounds
  5. Ensure that the restaurant is profitable by mitigating costs control measures, maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement
  6. Train, mentor and ensure the kitchen, restaurant and events staff have a high level of service orientation and professionalism
  7. Comply with food safety regulations, monitor exceptional menu designs, coordinate the purchase of goods and continuously make necessary improvements
  8. Identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns raised during the service delivery.

Desired skills and traits

  1. Proven food and beverage management experience of at least 3 to 4 years at supervisory level and above in a minimum of a three start hotel.
  2. Mastery in delegating multiple tasks with ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
  3. A minimum of a diploma in food and beverage or food service management or related field
  4. Excellent customer service, efficient problem spotting and re-solving skills
  5. One must be mature highly competent and at least 30 years of age.
  6. Outstanding Communication and excellent leadership skills
  7. Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
  8. Exceptional organizational and great delegation skills.

Wage

A guiding salary of Kshs 70,000.00 (Shillings Seventy thousand only) will be offered to the best candidate with the right attitude, best skills, qualifications and relevant experiences.
