Business Development Officer – Branding and Events

Our client a marketing, branding and event management consultancy involved in design, planning and coordination of events; and organizing other activities like conferences, workshops, product launches, company parties and award ceremonies is seeking to employ a Business Development Officer.

The best and preferred candidates are those with industry experience

Job purpose 

To oversee the development of business opportunities, build profitable business relationships by planning, locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships through direct marketing and other sales activation activities while ensuring company visibility and delivery of high – quality customer service.

Duties:

  1. Build, develop and nurture relationships with a view of ensuring the relationships are long-lasting and profitable.
  2. Identify, map business strengths and customer needs while researching business opportunities and viable income streams.
  3. To prospect through cold calling, sales activations to generate new sales leads, act as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets
  4. Gathering market and customer information to gain a clear understanding of customers’ requirements, conduct informational and sales presentations at leading prospects during marketing campaigns.
  5. Negotiate on price, costs, delivery and specifications with clients and the terms of an agreement while ensuring sales are optimally closed.
  6. Create detailed proposal documents; make accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide customers with appropriate quotations.
  7. Manage client objections with a view to getting the customer to buy.
  8. Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office or entering a computer system.
  9. Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions.
  10. Represent the organisation at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations; attend team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues,
  11. Review own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
  2. At least 3 years of professional experience in marketing, client/customer relationship building, and/or event promotions in the industry is a must.
  3. Market savvy / business development and stakeholder management
  4. Enthusiastic, confident and optimistic demeanour with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  5. A self-motivated person with good business acumen
  6. Analytical and organizational skills.
  7. Outstanding communication and business writing skills
  8. Excellent interpersonal negotiating, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Salary

A guiding net salary of Kshs 40,000.00 (Shillings Forty thousand only) and attractive commissions will be offered to the best candidate with the right attitude, best skills, qualifications and relevant experiences.
