Restaurant Sales & Marketing Officer

Our client a restaurant located in Nairobi serving medium to highend clients with fantastic food and drinks, fabulous ambiance and wonderful choice of music operating extended hours is looking for a  Sales & Marketing Officer.

Job Summary:

Responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls and restaurant visits by identifying new business prospects, maintaining relationships to customers while searching out business leads and trends on bar and restaurant products.

Duties

  1. Identify new markets , business opportunities and increase sales
  2. Support the restaurant service and relationship strategy, drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience to boost food and drinks sales,
  3. Ensure customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; respond to customer complaints tactfully and professionally,
  4. Develop and guide management on specific strategies the firm must engage to ensure customer loyalty, develop their interest in diverse offering during diverse seasons.
  5. Plan, prepare and present persuasive approaches and pitches to potential clients,
  6. Research and identify the needs of clients and customise packages best suited for them and use the existing network of industry contacts to generate new business,
  7. Manage placed orders effectively to ensure zero cancellations due to sales-related issues to reduce financial losses,
  8. Deploying successful sales and marketing campaigns from ideation to execution through face to face, field, online and other channels,
  9. Execute market intelligence in the hospitality industry and create a close relationship with clients to increase the resultant offers awareness,
  10. Attend industry events to increase brand awareness and acquire new contacts

Requirements

  1. A  Diploma in a business related field like marketing, business or management, hospitality management, hotel and catering,
  2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales in FMCG industry especially in hospitality industry with proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas.
  3. Ability to do a market research, customer intelligence, competitor and market analysis with sales performance tracking and reporting,
  4. Excellent negotiation, customer service skills orientation and strong communication skills with work experience in service industry including sales in hotels.
  5. Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment, flexible and able to fit in unpredictable shift system.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to establish outstanding relationship with customers.
  7. Good knowledge of Nairobi market, the general retail trade landscape,  route planning, sales management and after sales service
  8. High level of integrity with excellent customer service skills.
  9. Energetic and aggressive with personal selling experience with a wide sales network.
