Role Overview:

  1. The successful experienced and strategic Brand Manager will lead the development and execution of brand strategy.
  2. This role will require leadership, creativity, and a results-driven approach to take client brand presence to the next level across East Africa.
  3. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and proven experience in building brands, managing teams, and driving performance through clear KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Brand Strategy and Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the mission, vision, and growth objectives.
  • Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and creative direction to ensure consistent communication across all touchpoints.
  • Lead product launches, ensuring they align with market opportunities and customer needs.
  • Get creative!

2. Team Leadership and Performance Management 

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance targets for the team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Manage team workflows to ensure efficient execution of campaigns, activations, and marketing initiatives.

3. Campaign Planning and Execution

  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales.
  • Oversee digital, traditional, and event-based marketing strategies to maximize reach and impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, production, and design) to execute campaigns on time and within budget.
  • Build strategies that support customer journeys across different sales channel types, with different activity focuses.

4. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer insights, and competitive opportunities.
  • Analyze performance data to evaluate the success of campaigns and recommend improvements.
  • Use consumer and market insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.

5. Activation and Event Management

  • Lead brand activations, markets, and events to engage customers and showcase products effectively.
  • Manage event setups, messaging, and execution, ensuring they align with brand objectives.
  • Train teams to represent Grounded effectively at activations and evaluate performance outcomes.

6. Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to deliver maximum ROI.
  • Monitor spending, track results, and optimize campaigns for efficiency and impact.

7. Collaboration and Innovation

  • Work closely with the leadership team to align marketing initiatives with business goals.
  • Foster partnerships with external agencies, vendors, and key stakeholders to enhance brand visibility.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for innovation and growth to keep Grounded ahead in the market.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. 6-10+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or related roles within the FMCG sector.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  3. Creativity, humor, and a keen eye for brand aligned design and partnership
  4. Proven experience in building and executing brand
  5. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and growing high-performing
  6. Track record of managing marketing budgets, setting KPIs, and delivering
  7. Proficiency in digital marketing, campaign management, and performance tracking
  8. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed
  9. Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving
  10. Passion for sustainability and customer-centric brands is a plus.

Compensation

A guiding negotiable wage of Ksh 300K  will be offered to the best candidate.
