A fast growing, manufacturer of over 50 non-toxic cleaning products powered by African-grown ingredients committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives is seeking for an  Business Development Associate with a strong business acumen, project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Role Overview

To support the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and the sales team in identifying and launching new business opportunities across East Africa, responsible for scoping new revenue streams, coordinating business expansion initiatives, and providing administrative and analytical support to the commercial team.

Tracking business performance, managing sales processes, and ensuring seamless execution of revenue-generating initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Scoping & Launching New Business Opportunities

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, industries, and revenue streams.
  • Analyze customer needs, competitor offerings, and market trends to inform business expansion strategies.
  • Develop business cases and feasibility studies for potential new sales channels or product lines.
  • Assist in the execution of pilot programs, coordinating between internal teams and external partners.

2. Business Administration & Sales Operations

  • Act as the right hand to the CCO, assisting with coordination, planning, and execution of key commercial initiatives.
  • Manage sales meetings, including preparing agendas, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-ups are completed.
  • Maintain sales records, contracts, and key business documents, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Coordinate logistics for business development activities, events, and external meetings.

3. Revenue & Performance Reporting

  • Oversee and maintain company-wide revenue reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of sales performance across all channels.
  • Develop and update dashboards to provide insights on key business metrics, revenue trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for the CCO and leadership team.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and propose data-driven solutions to improve performance.

4. Sales Support & Partnership Development

  • Support the sales team in identifying and engaging with potential partners, distributors, and key accounts.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring strategic alignment with client’s commercial goals.
  • Develop and manage customer relationship tracking tools, ensuring seamless communication and follow-ups.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure new business resources are supported with customized marketing language and assets.

Requirements

  1. at least 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales operations, or management consulting.
  2. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic recommendations.
  3. Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with keen attention to detail.
  4. Experience in managing sales meetings, reporting, and revenue tracking.
  5. Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate multiple business initiatives at once.
  6. Entrepreneurial mind-set with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  7. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  8. Experience in FMCG, retail, or B2B sectors in East Africa is an advantage.

Compensation

A working wage of Ksh 60,000.00 with highly rewarding commissions will be offered to the best candidate.
