Our client a fast growing chomazone located at Ruiru is seeking to employ an accountant to carry out the following duties strictly for those with relevant work experience.

Job Summary

Responsible for the management and reporting of financial information, including capturing and analysing data, preparing financial reports, budgets, tax returns, and accounting records.

Specific Duties

  1. To Keep track of all payments to suppliers and other creditors in addition to expenditures.
  2. Negotiating favourable prices and credit terms with suppliers and settling suppliers’ dues by scheduling payment cheques and making sure that payments are received.
  3. Analyze potential suppliers and keeping a good record of the same while ensuring proper contracts are in place with suppliers as necessary.
  4. Support the purchasing process of all supplies as requested by various units.
  5. Timely creditors’ reconciliations to ensure that a healthy business relationship is maintained.
  6. Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate records.
  7. Processing employee payroll and paying employees’ salaries while ensuring that all statutory payments and monthly subscriptions are paid before the deadline including housing lev VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Catering levy.
  8. Ensure timely submissions of all monthly and annual tax return and statutory deductions in compliance with legal requirements.
  9. Collaborating with the external auditors throughout the auditing process in producing all the needed documents and information.
  10. Raising LPOs, receiving quotations and responsible for all deliveries, issuing invoices to customers and tracking accounts receivable.
  11. Developing and managing annual budgets for the bar or restaurant by forecasting revenue, expenses, and cash flow monitoring budget variances and providing recommendations for adjustments to support strategic planning.
  12. Controlling stocks and stock movements and ensuring all the supplies are received in good condition and are handled properly.
  13. Develop strategies for costs savings initiatives and continued business financial success by identifying areas for cost savings and waste reduction.
  14. Providing financial insights to management for informed decision-making.


  1. At least bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with full qualification with at least 3 years similar work experience
  2. Highly organised and attention, excellent time manager
  3. Problem solving capacities and a critical thinker
  4. A leader, team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  5. Robust critical thinking and decision Making skills
  6. Proficiency in accounting packages and ERPs
  7. Excellent business acumen and industry awareness
  8. A person of strong Work Ethic and proven professional integrity
  9. Strong understanding of Accounting systems and processes
  10. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  11. Proactive, highly motivated and flexible


A working compensation of Kes 40,000.00 will be offered to the suitable candidate
